The Chicago Bears are coming off of their bye week and are preparing for a NFC North divisional game against the Minnesota Vikings in week eight. So with the Bears ideal in week seven, there wasn’t much movement in the power rankings for the Bears.
Check out where the Bears rank among major publications:
ESPN
The Bears stayed put at #25 on ESPN, despite two teams who lost moving up near them. Here’s what the panel of experts had to say this week:
Matt Forte has accounted for 33.4 percent of the Bears’ yards from scrimmage, highest in the NFL. No other Bear has accounted for more than 14 percent of the team’s yards.
CBS Sports
In what seems like a surprise, the Bears actually moved up some spots in CBS’ power rankings. The Bears jumped up four sports from No. 19 to No. 15 and Pete Prisco believes in what John Fox is doing:
They’ve made strides this season in a lot off ways, but the roster is still limited. It will take time.
NFL.com
The league’s main website has the Bears actually falling a spot from No. 24 to No. 25 in the latest rankings. Oddly enough they have San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys ahead of them.
The Bears were off last week … and the Cubbies are off this week. Too soon? I am old enough to remember Leon Durham and his sweet glasses. And I think I had the hologram baseball card that showed Will Clark going yard on Greg Maddux in the 1989 NLCS. I’m saying it right now: Cubs vs. Rangers in the 2016 World Series.
Fox Sports
The Bears are still pretty low in Fox Sports’ power rankings coming in at No.29, but they did move up a spot:
The Bears will look to get both Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett more involved after the bye week, for as long as they’re on the team. There is speculation that the Bears could be sellers at the upcoming trade deadline as new general manager Ryan Pace looks to unload players for picks, as he did with Jared Allen.
SportingNews
In their weekly slideshow rankings, SportingNews has the Bears climbing up four spots to No. 22 this week but didn’t discuss football:
Whatever you think about Jay Cutler in this up-and-down season, there’s no doubt that his beautiful wife owns Halloween. What were we saying again?
