NFL WEEK 2 Sunday Primer
Kansas City Chiefs at Pittsburgh Steelers
Channel: CBS 2
Time: 12:05pm
Announcer: Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts
Lead-up: The matchup between the Chiefs and Steelers is favored to be a high scoring shootout as two of the league’s best offenses will be on display. The Steelers will be looking for their first win after settling for a tie against the Cleveland Browns in week one. The Chiefs will look to continue their strong play after an upset 38-28 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Fantasy watch: The game will feature two of the NFL’s best wide receivers in Antonio Brown and Tyreek Hill. Both caught touchdown passes last week and will most likely look to outdo one another during the game. It could also be a huge game for quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Ben Roethlisberger having Pro-Bowl receivers to throw to.
Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers
Channel: Fox 32
Time: 12:05pm
Announcing team: Kevin Burkhardt and Charles Davis
Lead-up: The early season game will help determine who will mostly win the division. The Packers are coming off an improbable comeback win against the Chicago Bears where quarterback Aaron Rodgers returned in the second half to rally his team from a 20 point deficit. The Vikings feature one of the league’s best defense which handed San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garopollo his first loss as a starter.
Fantasy watch: In his first game back since tearing his ACL, Vikings running back Dalvin Cook was effective more from a pass-catching role than a rushing role. Look for the Vikings to give him the ball early and often. Packers tight end Jimmy Graham could be targeted underneath with the Vikings’ quality secondary looking to limit Green Bay’s receivers on the outside.
New England Patriots at Jacksonville Jaguars
Channel: CBS 2
Time: 3:25pm
Announcing team: Jim Nantz and Tony Romo
Lead-up: In a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship, The Jacksonville Jaguars will look to exact their revenge on the New England Patriots. The Patriots trailed by 10 points in the fourth quarter of the game, to come back to win and advance to Super Bowl 52. If the Jaguars are able to pull off a victory on Sunday, they might have to do it without their best offensive weapon in running back Leonard Fournette. Fornette may miss the game due to a hamstring injury suffered against the New York Giants last Sunday.
Fantasy Matchup: In what figures to be a defense dominant game, Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon could see a lot of work in the Jaguars offense as they will look to control the ball to keep Tom Brady and the Patriots offense on the sideline. Patriots running back James White could see a lot of touches and catches out of the backfield against Jacksonville’s stiff defense and injuries plaguing the Patriots backfield.
