Chicago Bulls rookie forward Nikola Mirotic didn’t win Rookie of the Year, but he did rack up another award on Monday.
Mirotic was named to the NBA’s All-Rookie first team joining Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Clarkson, Nerlens Noel and Elfrid Payton. The 24-year-old out of Montenegro averaged 10.2 points and 4.9 rebounds in 82 games for the Bulls this season. Mirotic came over to Chicago this year after playing for Real Madrid from 2008-2014.
Mirotic is the sixth Bull in the Gar Forman/John Paxson era to earn NBA All-Rookie First Team according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. He joins Kirk Hinrich, Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson on that list.
Mirotic is 6th Bull (Hinrich, Deng, Gordon, Rose, Gibson) drafted by Paxson/Forman to earn 1st team All-Rookie. Tyrus Thomas 2nd team in 07.

Mirotic showed signs of breaking out for the Bulls this season and was named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for December. His struggles showed in the playoffs however with his defense being a liability and not making open shots. He will certainly be in the Bulls plans for the future as they hope he’s a piece they can build around.
