Joakim Noah followed up his historic performance Thursday night with another impressive game as he lead the Bulls past the Brooklyn Nets 96-85 Saturday night.
More importantly, the win put the Bulls a 1/2 game ahead of Brooklyn to a tie for the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture with the Atlanta Hawks.
The Bulls started off sluggish as they fell behind 15-4 in the early going. After that it was all Chicago.
Using a 15-0 run to end the first half, the Bulls never looked back and dominated the second half for their second win in a row. After the slow start the Bulls got the much needed energy from Noah as well as Nate Robinson who came off the bench and provided valuable minutes for the Bulls.
Noah finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four blocks.
Brook Lopez led the Nets with 22 points, but their 21 turnovers didn’t help their cause and the Bulls took advantage. They scored 24 points off the 21 turnovers and in the end that was pivotal to the Bulls success.
Jimmy Butler continued his solid play with 13 points and put a nail in the coffin with his alley-oop dunk from Kirk Hinrich. Butler also added a three-point play in the closing few minutes.
The Bulls will now travel to Indiana to take on their Central Division rival Pacers who currently hold a three game lead on the Bulls.
