The IceHogs returned home last night, after spending the last 2 weeks on the road, hosting the Iowa Wild on a back-to-back 2 game home series.
It looked like the first period was going to end scoreless for both teams until Rockford’s Jeremy Langlois was able to snatch the puck from behind Iowa’s Steve Michalec(G) and tap it in. During the second frame, the IceHogs were able to hold Iowa off from scoring, while Sam Carrick added to the IceHogs’ tally. Then the third frame, the Wild scored twice, thus tying the game up 2-2 at the end of regulation play. With a scant 13 seconds left on the OT time clock, Iowa’s Alex Tuch scores and Iowa wins, 3-2.
The IceHogs have made a couple of additions and one subtraction to their roster since they last played at home. Adding veteran netminder, Jeff Glass and center Mike Latta. Latta was the result of a Chicago Blackhawks trade with the LA Kings for defenseman, Cameron Schilling. Latta was then assigned to the IceHogs.
Tonight is the annual Pink In The Rink night in Rockford. The IceHogs will be wearing special pink jerseys. Those jerseys will be auctioned off to help support the fight against breast cancer.
