If there has been one bright spot on this season it has been the play of Paul Konerko, who this afternoon blasted his 10th home run on the season. Pierzynski also chimed in on the fun with an rbi singled that scored Mark Kotsay. The other runs were scored via errors by Nippert and Ramirez.
Gavin Floyd was brilliant giving up only 1ER in 7 innings, which included 5 strikeouts and no walks. Today’s win was the first for Gavin after struggling in early April. Floyd’s ERA is over 6.
Bobby Jenks was very shaky in his save attempt giving up 3 hits and 2 runs in the 9th. However Bobby did strike out 3 and got the save to pave the way for a 7-5 White Sox win.
Everyone is probably thinking, how did Kotsay do? Ill tell you. Awful, again. In 4 plate appearances Kotsay again failed to get a hit. You can hear the Andruw Jones chants from all around Chicago……………..
Playing away from the Cell has not bode well for the Sox as today’s win was just there 3rd road win on the season.
The Sox are now 9-13 on this young season and are in 4th place in the AL Central, 5 games back of the Minnesota Twins.
The Sox start a series in the Bronx tomorrow against the World Champion New York Yankees.
