According to the Arizona Republic, Penn State redshirt freshman offensive lineman Ryan Nowicki has informed Illini coaches he’s transferring to Illinois.
Along with a few other players as a result of the NCAA sanctions, Nowicki leaves Penn State and is immediately eligible to play.
Coming out of high school in Arizona, Nowicki chose Penn State over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Illinois, Michigan, Oregon State, USC, Utah, Washington and Washington State.
Nowicki makes the eighth transfer from Penn State, along with RB Silas Redd (USC), S Tim Buckley (North Carolina St), QB Rob Bolden (LSU), TE Kevin Haplea (Florida St) , LB Khairi Fortt (Cal), DT Jamil Pollard (Rutgers), K Anthony Fera (Texas).
