After a long span of negotiations and hiccups, Cubs starter Matt Garza is heading to the Texas Rangers. Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports was the first to report it.
Garza is 6-1 this season with a 3.17 ERA. His contract expires at the end of the season.
According to Rosenthal and Jeff Passan, the Cubs will receive 3B Mike Olt, SP C.J. Edwards and one other player.
Olt is a former top prospect who has regressed this season, but has battled vision problems. He hits for a lot of power and strikes out a ton.
Edwards is a 21 year old starting pitcher who has posted a 1.83 ERA in Single A this season. He has fanned 122 hitters in 93.1 innings and has yet to allow a home run in either pro season of his career.
John Arguello and Tom Loxas of CubsDen report that the third player will be a pitcher.
Chris Rusin will reportedly start tonight for the Cubs vs. Arizona.
Justin Grimm will be the third player in the deal, according to Passan. The 24 year old is having a tough first season in the majors, posting a 6.37 ERA in 17 starts. It is unknown whether he will start in the MLB or AAA. Grimm was the Rangers preseason #5 prospect according to Baseball America.
The final deal will include two players to be named later.
The Cubs will receive either one or two players to be named later. They will choose either Player A or Players B and C. All three are pitchers and it is presumed that Player A is Neil Ramirez.
Mike Olt and Justin Grimm will be assigned to Triple-A Iowa, while C.J. Edwards will be sent to High-A Daytona.

What are Cubs getting for Soriano from the Yanks (other than getting out from underneath his contract)?
