If you want to own some rare autographed Michael Jordan items, now is your chance.
Former Gatorade VP Brian Schmidt built a friendship with Jordan over the years and was very instrumental in the classic “Be Like Mike” ad that ran in 1991. During that time, Schmidt received some pretty cool items from Jordan with most of them being signed.
Schmidt has had these items just stored away in the attic at his house and now he’s ready to let them go.
He’s auctioning off some of those items in Steiner Auction’s “2017 Mid-Summer Classic” which runs through July 29th.
Schmidt spoke with the Chicago Tribune discussing his relationship with Jordan.
“I have a great relationship with Michael,” he said. “I have great memories and great stories. After 30 some years, (the memorabilia) builds up.”
The idea of auctioning items arose when he had considered selling his house in Tennessee and was going through items realizing he didn’t need many of them.
Some items in the auction include game-worn shorts, autographed baseball cleats, autographed basketball shoes and even jerseys.
You can bid on these items and more by visiting the official auction at Steiner Sports.
