Game 1 – Rays 5 Sox 0
The Sox were unable to figure out Price this time as he dealt them their 5th straight loss. The hitting was anemic. The Sox as a team managed only 4 hits with the only extra base hit being a Ramon Castro double. Edwin Jackson gave up 4 runs on 11 hits and 1 walk. Matt Thornton struck out 2 and gave up a homer to Felipe Lopez in his one inning.
Game 2 – Rays 2 Sox 1
Johnny Danks pitched very well but lost his 2nd decision of the year. Danks surrendered 2 runs on 7 hits walked none and struck out 5 and was relieved by Crain who pitched a scoreless inning. The hitting was not there again scoring 1 run on 4 hits.
Game 3 Rays 4 – Sox 1
Quentin went deep but lost their 7th in a row managing only 6 hits. Philip Humber wasn’t terrible going 5.1 innings giving up 4 earned on 6 hits and 1 walk. Ohman, Pena and Sale combined for 2.2 scoreless innings. The team was 0-6 RISP
Game 4 – Sox 9 Rays 2
The Final game of the series was also the final game of the Sox 7- game losing streak as the Sox beat the Rays 9-2. Floyd pitched well going 6.0 Innings surrendering 2 Runs on 7 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7. Ohman, Santos and Gray each pitched a scoreless inning. Juan Pierre reached base twice and stole a base. Captain Paul Konerko went 3/5 with a double and Omar, filling in for Gordon, went 2/5.
