The Chicago Bulls are slotted to pick No. 7 in the 2019 NBA Draft on Thursday night but will they stay there? With a need at point guard, the Bulls are candidates to trade back or even up to get their guy.
With the Memphis Grizzlies likely taking Ja Morant at No. 2 overall, the next two top point guards are Darius Garland and Coby White. You would think that one would be there when the Bulls pick at 7 and some reports have the Bulls linked to White and there may have even been a “promise” attached to that.
But the latest report on Tuesday may suggest otherwise.
Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress is reporting that the Bulls are one of three teams that have expressed interest in trading up to No. 4 where the New Orleans Pelicans are slotted to pick and take Garland. Here is what he tweeted on Tuesday:
Garland is coming off of a knee injury, forcing him to miss most of his freshman season at Vanderbilt. However, Givony is also reporting that Garland should be ready to go when Summer League begins in July.
Trading up to No. 4 for Garland could be a big risk for the Bulls but if another team pulls the trigger and Phoenix takes White, Chicago could be out of luck at the point guard position.
