Adrian Wojnarowski dropped another “Woj Bomb” on Twitter today when he reported that sources are indicating Carmelo Anthony is leaning on leaving New York.
The source states that the Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets have emerged as the favorites for Anthony. He’s waiting on both teams to clear the cap space to sign the star forward.
Anthony met with Knicks officials on Friday night to try to persuade him to stay in the Big Apple, but the meeting didn’t really impact what Melo wants to do. With the Bulls and Rockets becoming the favorites to land the star, both team will now look to make the moves to acquire him.
Front office executives from both teams now have the chance to do what it takes to land a star for their team. For the Bulls, it would mean having three potential stars on a roster and the favorites to dethrone Miami in the East. Houston is looking to pair Anthony with Dwight Howard and James Harden which would make a star-studded lineup.
Anthony has always loved New York and has a special place for the city in his heart, but now’s the time for him to win. Will it be Houston or Chicago?
