The Chicago Blackhawks really needed some good news regarding goalie Corey Crawford after he was placed on IR for the second time this season.
On Tuesday night, they received the opposite according to a report.
Chicago Sun-Times Blackhawks’ beat writer Mark Lazerus is reporting that the team fears that Crawford will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season with vertigo-like symptoms.
Lazerus wrote that three sources informed him that Crawford is dealing with vertigo-like symptoms, the second time it’s happened in his career:
But it’s not quite that certain. Three sources told the Sun-Times that Crawford is dealing with vertigo-like symptoms, for the second time in his career. And there is a growing concern within the organization that Crawford could miss the rest of the season, as Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Tuesday.
In Crawford’s absence, Anton Forsberg and Jeff Glass have filled in but two have just a combined 27 starts between them. If Crawford is indeed done for the year, it is a big blow to Chicago’s chances at another Stanley Cup.
