Carlos Boozers time in Chicago seems to be coming to an end. Joe Cowley from the Chicago Sun-Times reports the Chicago Bulls have informed Boozer that they will amnesty him, making him a free agent.
The Bulls will have to pay the remaining $16.8 million he’s due, but the hit won’t count against the salary cap. The Bulls are one of the favorites to land Carmelo Anthony and have been rumored to be interested in Pau Gasol and Lance Stephenson. The Knicks have said they are not interested in a sign-and-trade involving Boozer, so that option is out of the door.
With Boozer likely gone, Taj Gibson will likely be in the starting lineup next season.
