The Chicago Bulls have been rumored to be targeting a point guard in the 2019 NBA Draft with reports linking them to North Carolina’s Coby White on Thursday night.
White is one of the best point guards behind Ja Morant and could go as high as No. 5 in Thursday’s draft. The 6-foot-5 point guard has ridiculous upside and would be a fit for the Bulls at a position of need.
But it doesn’t look like he’s the only former UNC player on their radar.
Per Shams Charnia of The Athletic, the Bulls are attempting to bring in UNC forward Nassir Little for a predraft workout before Thursday. Charnia wrote on Little and the Bulls in his piece for the Athletic that dropped on Monday.
Sources said North Carolina forward Nassir Little’s draft range likely begins with the Hawks at No. 8, but the Bulls (No. 7) are expressing an increased interest in trying to bring Little in for a workout ahead of Thursday’s draft.
After arriving at UNC as a top 3 recruit, Little had a disappointing freshman season for the Tar Heels. He was the team’s sixth man and averaged 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Those aren’t bad numbers but the expectations were high for the recruit coming out of high school.
If Coby White and Jarrett Culver are gone before 7 and the Bulls want to take a big risk, Little might be there guy. It could be the biggest surprise of the draft if it happens.
