Well that didn’t take long.
On the day that Cuban outfielder Luis Robert was eligible to be signed, the Chicago White Sox made their move.
According to Ken Rosenthal, the White Sox and Robert are finalizing a deal to bring the Cuban outfielder to Chicago:

With the deal being $25M, the White Sox will end up spending a total of $50M as they have to pay the luxury tax of equal amount.
Robert is considered the top international prospect this year and is a major addition to the White Sox farm system. He would likely be a top 5 pick if he were eligible for the MLB Draft in June.

After acquiring prospects Yoan Moncada, Michael Kopech, Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez in offseason deals, Robert becomes the latest prized prospect to join the farm system.
It comes just weeks before the White Sox are set to pick 11th in the 2017 MLB Draft.
Chicago outbid St. Louis for the rights to Robert. It is unknown where he will begin at this moment.
