Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez is the centerpiece in the team’s rebuild and now they want to make sure he stays with the organization for the long-term.
According to Hector Gomez and Jeff Passan, the White Sox and Jimenez are finalizing a long-term deal:
A report by Gomez just last week suggested the two sides were working on a deal but it was reportedly shot down as just a “rumor.” Now, things appear to be serious for the franchise and their top prospect.

The 22-year-old Jimenez will begin the season in Triple-A but isn’t expected to stay down there long. Due to service time issues, the White Sox will likely bring him up in Mid to Late April barring an injury concerns.
Jimenez is ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect in baseball according to MLB’s rankings.
