The Chicago White Sox have already made a few moves to improve their team this offseason, but they might not be done just yet.
Reports surfaced earlier in the week that the White Sox were interested in free agent outfielders Alex Gordon and Yoenis Cespedes. One report even stated that the White Sox are just waiting for Gordon to make his move before making a big push to Cespedes.
The White Sox could use another big bat in their lineup to compliement Jose Abreu, Todd Frazier and Brent Lawrie, as well as a solid defensive outfielder. The addition of Gordon would give them a nice left-handed bat in the middle of the lineup with some power. As for Cespedes, the 30-year-old has one of the best arms in all of baseball and tons of power at the plate.
Now with the White Sox reportedly in on both players, USA Today’s Bob Nightengale is reporting that the White Sox won’t sign either to more than a three-year deal:

With a strong market for Gordon, he might not be willing to take anything under a three-year deal. Then the White Sox would shift the focus to Cespedes. However, if they aren’t careful they could miss out on both.
