When the Chicago White Sox hold their home opener against the Detroit Tigers on April 5th, fans will get their first look at the 2018 team as they enter a key rebuilding year filled with tons of young talent. But young prospects on the roster won’t be the only thing new at Guaranteed Rate Field.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Chicago’s Revolution Brewing is opening a new bar inside the ballpark that is sure to be a hit with White Sox fans this season.
The new bar, dubbed the Revolution Brewing #SoxSocial Tap Room, will be located along the left field line and will be open to all ticket holders this season. Revolution previously had the space last year for private events and occasional openings to the public.
The #SoxSocial Tap Room will hold a capacity of 250 people and feature a rotating selection of the brewery’s “Hero” IPAs, beers from their brewpub in the city and the popular Barrel-Aged Imperial Oatmeal Stout Deth’s Tar which is aged in bourbon barrels and is 14.8 percent alcohol. The limited release is brewed with English specialty malts with flaked and malted oats added to it and then aged in American Oak barrels for 12 months.
In addition to the #SoxSocial Tap Room the Craft Kave which was added in 2017 and featured more than 75 craft beers will be expanded. The White Sox announced that a new Craft Kave Express will be installed on the 500 level and will host 40-to-50 craft beers.
With young talent already on the roster and the potential for more to be called up during the year, Guaranteed Rate will be a great place to watch some baseball and grab a craft beer this Summer.
