It was another close game last night for the IceHogs. At the end of regulation play, the score was tied 4-4. Five minutes of 3 on 3 overtime did not produce a winner and it all came down to a shootout. It then took 7 rounds, before a winner could be declared. Hogs lose to the Manitoba Moose 5-4.
The IceHogs started the game with Lars Johansson in net, but midway in the 2nd frame he was pulled and replaced by Mac Carruth, after the Moose had scored their 3rd goal within 5 minutes. Carruth went on to stop 15 out of 16 shots the Moose sent his way in regulation play.
Rockford’s Martin Lundberg scored two goals in the first period and earned himself the 2nd Star of the Game. #1 & #3 Stars of the Game were Manitoba’s Jack Roslovic and Eric Comrie respectively.
The IceHogs are at home for double header weekend, hosting the Chicago Wolves on Friday night and the Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday.
