The Chicago Bulls lacked both Joakim Noah (illness) and Carlos Boozer (ankle sprain) in Tuesday night’s outing with the Wizards. But that did not stop Rose and company from pounding on Washington, 98-79.
With the victory, the Bulls have finally taken sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference Standings.
The Bulls combatted the 2-3 zone of the Wizards to perfection. There were multiple passes on many possessions by the Bulls to find the holes in the defense. This allowed for easy elbow jump-shots from Taj Gibson and Kurt Thomas.
Perhaps most importantly, the zone allowed the Bulls to get 20 offensive rebounds all leading to second chance scoring opportunities.
Even Keith Bogans got into the action tonight. He exploded for five three-pointers in the game.
His assignment, Jordan Crawford, had a 27-point night. But when you give up 17 points from Bogans, you are sure to be in for a rough night.
The Chicago Bulls’ next game will be on Thursday on the road against the New Jersey Nets at 6:00 PM CT.
