In a recent report from Michael Giardi of the NFL Network, it appears the Miami Dolphins have been receiving calls about Josh Rosen this off-season.
It’s easy to understand why teams might be checking in to see if Rosen is available. He’s not very good, BUT in this year’s draft the Dolphins obviously took Tua Tagovailoa, and they’ve also still got Ryan Fitzpatrick under contract. With two years and a potential fifth-year option left for Rosen, teams might be intrigued and take a chance on him, and the Dolphins may be open to parting ways.
With it seeming like the Dolphins might jump at a trade for the right price, should the Bears pick up the phone to check on Rosen’s availability? Finding those odds might be tough but for informative guides on online sports betting, casinos and horse racing you can get the latest odds at Betoclock.
But pick up the phone? Maybe. Actually give up something to acquire Rosen? Probably not.
There have often been questions about his drive to play the game of football, but his stat lines alone lead you to an obvious no. I mean, you think Trubisky’s yards per completion and yards totals were bad? You haven’t looked into Rosen… Trubisky was dead last in yards per attempt at 6.1 last year. Rosen was at 5.2 last year and 5.8 the year before. He has got some wild games in 2018 with the Cardinals and it didn’t get much better in 2019. How is it possible to throw the ball 25 times, complete it 15 times, and only rack up 85 yards with 2 interceptions?
He’s not any better than Trubisky. He might actually be worse. It might be hard for people in Chicago to imagine, but yes…there are worse QBs than Trubisky in the NFL. If Trubisky makes you pull your hair out… Enter Josh Rosen: “Hold my beer.”
And it’s not like Rosen hasn’t been given some opportunities. He started in 13 games in Arizona and didn’t do much with that opportunity serving up a whopping 2278 yards with 11 TDs and 14 INTs.
Now, maybe he got a raw deal since that was a turbulent season leading to a coaching change and really got only one year with the Cardinals/never got the chance to grow in a system. As soon as Kliff Kingsbury got to town, Rosen was toast. Kingsbury wanted Kyler Murray, and they went out and drafted him. See ya Josh Rosen. But… he was also given an opportunity in Miami this past year. With how bad that team was, they didn’t even think it was a good idea to play him over an aging Fitzpatrick to see if he could put anything together. He played in the first 5 games then got benched for the remainder of the season.
The argument can be made that you try and acquire him and bring out some of that potential people thought he had going into the draft, but right now the Bears already have two, what some would consider, “backup” QBs and they don’t need another. I’d say Trubisky has a better chance of being effective than Rosen does untapping this hidden potential.
If the Bears are down on Foles and Trubisky enough to even trade for Rosen, the season is already lost. They might as well go after Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields. I almost wouldn’t mind that plan with or without Rosen.
Do you think the Bears should even reach out to the Dolphins? Let us know below!

Me personally I think Rosen should go to a team like Tampa bay sit behind Brady for a couple of years and learn the offense he had different coordinators and coaches in his short career that’s my opinion
Dude you’re just an idiot, didn’t have s*** to work with an Arizona, and no better s*** in Miami, I think you have puke or even writing anything like this, give the man a chance
I feel sorry for Rosen. Good guy, football smarts but just got dealt a bad hand. I agree with Brian- a team like Tampa Or Pittsburgh or maybe even Minnesota. Where he can learn and have a better chance. I’m a die hard Bears fan and they will never get the QB position right. Great Defense, great running game, potential WRs but never a QB. They blew the draft taking Trubisky when you had a National Champion in Watson and a game changing in Mahoney. You took a guy that played 13 games smh
Tampa, Pittsburgh, NE and maybe Minnesota. Not Chicago. They shouldn’t be having QB problems If they didn’t choke the draft by taking Trubisky over Watson or Mahomes. But that’s Chicago for you
Yeah I wouldn’t say didn’t have anything in Arizona when he’s got a Hall of Fame WR in Fitz, a 2nd round WR in Kirk and a pro bowl RB in David Johnson. Think it was more of the coaching staff than not having weapons. That’s not elite, but not trash. Didn’t have anything in Miami but to the coaching staff, he wasn’t even worth having on the field.
Yeah he’s def been dealt a band hand and could pick it up somewhere. Now with Tua, he’s got no shot there moving forward. Places you mentioned would def be a better fit than a team like the Bears.
Dude you’re a dickhead for writing the negativity on this possibily future great quarterback.
I saw josh rosen in Arizona I went to every game the guy needs a shot 4 OC in 2 years in to the league question is do you guys think Tus shouldn’t worry fins fans 2 ankle surgerys dislocate hip and the Vets don’t give a crap who you are
we have a high caliber back up QB on the cheap for the next 3 year.. fitz is gone next year and we will need a back up to tua.. wake up people.. jeez.. we can trade Rosen when he’s out of his rookie contract and has proven he can play this game.. stop being so damn greedy and look at the big picture.. we will have a quality back up QB that will know the system better than any other QB we could bring in..
I agree with most of the comments already written. Rosen has been given little if chance, and the chances he got were with two teams that lacked talent.
I’m a DolFan. We likely couldn’t get much in the way of a trade, his contract isn’t breaking the Fins bank, he’s learning already on the team, keep him as our #3 behind Fitz and Tua until his contract is up, or a better and cheaper #3 shows up.
As for the writer, geesus man! I think you were way out of line with your assessment of Rosen. You think Peyton Manning was very good his first year? He played every game I believe and he struggled with a similar cast. The Dolphins lost their first 5 football games with Rosen, and only turned it around when Coach Flores started cutting or trading players who weren’t hungry. Once he got rid of a bunch of “supposed stars”, and other dead weight, the Fins started playing a little better.
The only way you trade Josh Rosen now is if you can get a starting caliber player in return.
Tia is going to be a bust with his fragile body
This kid was a first round draft pick . No way you give him up for anything less than a third round.
He played in Arizona with a horrible team and in Miami with the worst offensive line.
Dolphins should ask for a starting player in return.
Safety, center, linebacker running back, tackle.
