In a move that may surprise a couple people, the Cubs signed former phenom Dontrelle Willis to a minor league deal, as first reported by CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman. Willis was originially drafted by the Cubs in the 8th round of 2000 draft. Ever since Willis was dealt with MVP Miguel Cabrera to the Tigers he has struggled mightily. He has also had failed stints with the Diamondbacks and Reds. While Willis will surely get a look in Spring Training, it is not likely he will make the major league roster.

Wasn’t he a former Cub prospect? For some reason, I remember him being a part of the Antonio Alfonseca trade/debacle.
Yep he was drafted in 2000 by the Cubs, then traded in the Alfonseca/Clement deal.
