Simeon and Brother Rice just played what was one of the best High School Basketball games of the season in the IHSA Playoffs.
The two teams met Friday night at Brother Rice in the Class 4A regional final, with a trip to sectionals on the line and it didn’t disappoint. The game went into overtime where freshman phenom AJ Casey stole the show.
With the game tied at 73, Casey was able to sky for a rebound and managed to get a put-back off in time for the game-winner, sending Simeon to the sectionals with a 75-73 win.
Check out the play below as Casey grabs the rebound off a missed free throw and ends Brother Rice’s season:
Casey finished with 8 points and 11 rebounds while senior Antonio Reeves finished with 26 points.
With the win Simeon advances Eisenhower Sectional semifinal and will take on Marian Catholic on Wednesday.
