Tonight news broke from sources that the Bears have listed three finalists for their head coaching job. The three candidates are Marc Trestman, Bruce Arians and Darrell Bevell.
All three will be brought in for a second interview, and many expect an announcement of a head coach by this Saturday.
According to one source, Trestman is the “heavy favorite” to win the Bears job. Trestman is the coach of the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes and does have experience in the NFL as well as in college football.
Last week Jimmy Johnson tweeted that Trestman would land the Bears job. Nothing has become official yet.
The Chicago Sun-Times Sean Jensen reported over Twitter that Artians is also a candidate. This game minutes after the names of Trestman and Bevell were announced. Arians is currently the offensive coordinator for the Indianpolis Colts and took over as head coach this season during Chuck Pagano’s absence. Arians seemed to be a popular choice amongst fans, and will now get a second interview.
Bevell was also considered a strong candidate as the current Seahawks offensive coordinator. Bevell has experience in the NFC North as he has worked on the offensive side of the ball with the Green Bay Packers as well as the Minnesota Vikings.
