Sox @ Mariners
The Sox were able to sweep the lowly Mariners by scores of 4-2, 3-0 and 9-3. The pitching was able to keep the Mariners bats at bay including a streak of 21 scoreless innings, beginning in the 5th inning of game 1 and ending in the 8th inning on Sunday’s finale. Peavy went 6 innings earning the win in which he gave up 2 ER. John Danks pitched a 3 hit shutout and Gavin was solid in his 7.1 innings to seal the finale.
The bats were pretty quiet in the first 2 games managing 12 hits over the 2 days but came alive in the finale as the Sox were able to score 9 runs with the help of a 3-R-HR off the bat of Dayan Viciedo and a Grand Slam from Tyler Flowers. Brent Lillibridge surpassed Adam Dunns homer total with his 12.
