I wrote earlier that Daniel Hudson was meeting up with the big league team in Pittsburgh and I’d like to apologize because I was just told that he, in fact, was meeting with the team in Washington and flew up to DC today. He was going to be there as a back-up in case Jake Peavy couldn’t pitch this weekend. However he may just return back to Charlotte for his scheduled start on Saturday with the team.
One of the Sox 2 options for third base, Jayson Nix, was designated for assignment today to make room for 21-year-old Dayan Viciedo. Viciedo was told after tonight’s game with AAA Charlotte that he would be joining the team for tomorrow’s game.
27-year-old Wes Whisler was also dealt to the Marlins this evening after Charlotte’s game but the details haven’t been released just yet. Whisler has a 5.02 ERA over 28.2 IP in AAA.
Congrats to the White Sox for sweeping the Pirates this week in Pittsburgh. They move onto Washington tomorrow for what is sure to be an explosive series in our nation’s capital.

Melissa:
Can you write something on RHP Matt Zaleski. I’m not sure if anyone is watching but he is putting up some amazing numbers and could be a late bloomer for the Sox.
In his last 5 starts he has the following stats:
IP: 35.2
H: 18
ER: 5
BB: 10
K: 21
ERA: 1.26
WHIP: .78
Overall his stats are also very good (3.21) as they were in 2008 (2.70) and 2009 (2.28). Not a high strikeout rate but the ERA has been very impressive.
it would be nice if someone wrote an article about this guy.
Hey sounds like a great idea! I’ll do some research and see if I can’t get in touch with him and get something up for you 🙂
