Game 1
This series will kick off with Phil Humber facing Ex-Sox Farmhand and Black Jack look-a-like Brandon McCarthy. Humber has been solid for the Sox this year going 2-3 with an outstanding 2.97 ERA over 8 games. McCarthy is 1-3 with a 3.26 ERA and has a 5.03 ERA over his last 3 starts. McCarthy has gone 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA in 1 start vs. his ex-employer.
Game 2
The middle game will feature Gavin Floyd vs. RHP Tyson Ross. Gavin has seen his best April of his career and hopes to continue as he is 3-0 with a 1.32 ERA in 6 starts against the A’s and is 2-1 in his last 3. Ross was drafted by the A’s in the 2nd Round of the 2008 draft, he is filling in for the injured Dallas Braden and is 1-1 in starts winning his last start going 6 innings and surrendering 2 earned against the Royals his loss was vs. the Mariners in his first start of the year. He is 2-2 with a 2.51 ERA this year and pitched 3 innings of relief vs. the Sox in Chicago surrendering 1 hit no runs. Ross features a Low-90s fastball and a mid-80s slider.
Game 3
Edwin Jackson looks to win his second in a row in the series finale, opposing Jackson is Trevor Cahill. Jackson looked very good in his last start going 7 shutout innings giving up 5 hits and 1 walk and striking out 5. Cahill has gone 1-1 in 6 games his career vs. the Sox including a 4.2 inning no decision earlier this year. Cahill will feature a low 90’s Fastball he also throws a low 90s sinker which he throws away to lefties and righties.
