Here we go again! That is what we were all thinking as the Sox took a early 3-0 defecit to the Royals in the 1st inning. With 2 outs in the bottom of the 1st Callasp stepped to the plate and took the ball deep to left field for a 3 RBI double.
Alexei got 1 back in the 2nd as he singled.
Billy Butler got the run back in the 3rd as he took one over the wall.
However, that is all they would score. In the 7th Ramon Castro hit a 2 RBI single followed by an RBI single by Juan Pierre. Andruw Jones hit a sac fly which would eventually be the game winning run.
Jake Peavy was decent tonight, but decent ended up being good enough as he picked up the win. Jake went 8.1 innings giving up 4 runs on 7 hits. His ERA is now 5.37 on the season. After starting 0-2 this season Jake is now 3-2. Matt Thornton finished off the game allowing o hits and 0 runs.
It has been a bumpy ride this season but hopefully this will be a good sign of things to come as finally the Sox hitting and pitching came together and united as 1 tonight.
The Sox look to win the series tomorrow afternoon in Kansas City.
