Sox win, Tigers lose, Twins lose, which means that the Sox are now just one game out of first place in the Al Central and this is how they did it.
It didnt take long for the Sox to jump out to an early lead as mark Kotsay doubled to deep center field as Quentin scored giving the Sox the 1-0 lead. Buehrle looked good for the first 4 innings but after Vladamir Guerrero reached base it was 3 time all star Josh Hamilton that blasted the ball out of the ball park giving the Rangers a 2-1 lead. In the next inning it was young Dayan Viciedo who would tie the game for the Sox with an rbi ground out. The Rangers would manage to take the lead right back on the Borbon home run. It didn’t take long for the Sox to tie it up as Carlos Quentin picked up his 50th rbi scoring Paul Konerko on the double. Later in the inning the Cuban Missile Alexei Ramirez untied the game with a 2 run home run to left field giving the Sox a 5-3 lead. The score would stay that way as the Sox went on to give Mark Buehrle his 7th win on the season.
Mark Buehrle managed to pick up his 7th win on the season tonight in Texas. Buehrle went 7 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits as he struck out none. It was up to Putz and 1st time all-star Matt Thornton to lock it down, and they did as the pitched 2 hit less innings to give the Sox the 5-3 win.
The Sox start a new series tomorrow at US Cellular Field against the Angels.
