The headline of the game, Dayan Vicideo goes deep for his first career major league home run.
In the first inning it was the hot hitting Alexei Ramirez who gave the Sox the early lead as he went deep to left field, giving the Sox a 1- lead. In the 2nd inning it was Brent Lillibridge who would give the Sox the 2-0 lead on the RBI single scoring Andruw Jones. The Angels would get one back in the 6th when Abreu grounded out to 1st. In the bottom half of the inning with Juan Pierre on 2nd, Paul Konerko knocked him in with the RBI single making it 3-1. Carlos Quentin would make it 5-1 on the golf shot home run to left. In the 7th it was rookie Dayan Viciedo who cranked out his first career Big league Home Run. It was then his fellow Cuban Alexei Ramirez who would single giving the Sox a 7-1 lead. The Howie Kendrick single in the 8th would make it 7-2, but Sergio Santos came in on a bases situation and was able to get the strike out ending the threat. Another Carlos Quentin home run and a Dayan Viciedo single in the 8th would give the Sox a 9-2 lead and that is how the game would end.
Gavin Floyd AGAIN was brilliant going 7 innings allowing 5 hits and just one run. Sergio Santos was also able to pick up his first career save.
The Sox will look for their 3rd straight win tomorrow night.
