Game 1 – Tigers 9 Sox 3
Mark Buehrle was not sharp vs. the Tigers as he went 5.2 innings surrendering 6 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks. Buehrle gave way to Tony Pena who in his 2.1 innings surrendered 3 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks. The Sox hitters continued to be ineffective with 6 hits which included a 2 homer game for Carlos Quentin and a Paul Konerko solo shot as the only extra base hits.
Game 2 – Tigers 9 Sox 0
Edwin Jackson didn’t have it in this game giving up 8 runs, 7 earned on 12 hits and 4 walks. Will Ohman and Jeff Gray combined for 2.1 innings and 1 run. The Sox were once again shut down getting only 5 hits, the first one in the 7th none of those 5 were extra base hits.
Game 3 – Tigers 3 Sox 0
The Sox were unable to hit anything once again and continued the epic scoreless streak they are on.
