The Sox were able to redeem themselves after the horrid showing against the Yankees as they swept the Twins at home, finally!!! The Sox pitching surrendered only 1 earned run over the series. Mark Buehrle went 8 excellent innings giving up 0 ER on 4 hits and lowering his season ERA to 3.04. Zack Stewart, newly acquired righty, went 6.1 good innings giving up 1 run on 8 hits and Jake Peavy went 8 shutout innings in the finale striking out 6.
The hitting finally backed up the pitching leading the way was Alex Rios going 5/9 and Carlos was solid in the series going 4/8 with 2 homers and Brent Morel also looked good with 4 hits in his 12 at bats. Juan Pierre picked up right where he left off going 4/10
