The Sox finished off their home stand at a respectable 6-4 by winning 3 of 4 from the lowly A’s. The biggest win for this series was the contributions from non-contributors such as Alex Rios and Adam Dunn.
The starting staff set the tone by shutting down Oakland hitting, compiling a 3.25 ERA between Buehrle, Jackson, Danks and Humber for the series. John Danks continued his march towards a respectable record winning his 2nd straight decision. The bullpen had a 7.59 ERA over the series but that was mostly due to El Matadors bad outing on Friday, take that out and the ERA falls to 3.25.
The hitters were not good with RISP going a combined 7/32 for the series, including 0/10 on Saturday. The brightest spots were Alex Rios and Adam Dunn. Rios went 6/16 and Dunn hit 2 homers, drove in 6 and struck out only 4 times in 12 Abs. Also heating up was AJ Pierzynski going 5/10. Continuing his hot season, Paul Konerko, who went 7/17, hit 2 homers and drove in 5.
