The Sox will welcome back some former teammates in Juan Uribe, Jon Garland and Mike MacDougal; also former Minor leaguers Aaron Miles and Matt Guerrier. Miles was traded for Juan Uribe. The Dodgers are embroiled in a reality show-esque divorce and take over by MLB, but come to Chicago to play some ball! They are lead by pitching ace Clayton Kershaw and Andre Ethier. They are without closer Jonathan Broxton.
Game 1 –
The Opening of Inter League Baseball is upon us. The Sox call on Phil Humber the righty is 3-3 with a 3.18 ERA this year and has not faced the Dodgers in his career and in his last 3 starts is 2-0 with an excellent 2.14 ERA. The Dodgers will counter with Ted Lilly who is 3-4 this year with a 4.83 ERA and is 6-2 with a 5.16 ERA in his career vs. the Sox.
Game 2 –
The middle game of the series features a World Series flashback of a pitching matchup with Jon Garland coming back to US Cellular Field. Garland is 1-3 with a 3.55 ERA this year and vs. his former team Jon has pitched 6 innings and gave up 3 earned runs on 7 hits and 4 walks. In Garland’s way is Mark Buehrle. Buehrle the southpaw is 3-3 with a 4.07 ERA this year but in his last 3 has a 2.21 ERA, Mark has faced the Dodgers 3 times and is 2-1 with a 1.17 ERA.
Game 3 –
The finale of this series Edwin Jackson faces off against Hiroki Kuroda. Kuroda is 5-3 with a 2.80 ERA this year and is 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA in one career game against the Sox. Edwin Jackson is 3-5 with a 4.53 ERA this year and is 2-1 with a 4.05 ERA against the team that drafted him back in 2001 making him their 6th round pick.
