Game 1 – Rangers 4 Sox 0
The Sox were unable to figure out Rangers starter Ogando as the Sox eked out 5 Hits. John Danks again was solid, going the distance but earned his 7th loss of the year. Gordon went 2/2, walking once and the rest of the team was quiet. Team with RISP 0/1.
Game 2 – Sox 8 Rangers 6
As has been the case this year, the Sox followed up a poor offensive day with an offensive explosion. Carlos Quentin was the big bat today hitting 3 homers, Alex Rios went 2/3. The sox used 7 pitchers in the win after starter Jake Peavy lasted only 3 innings due to the rain delay. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits and Sergio Santos earned his 7th save of the year.
Game 3 – Rangers 2 Sox 1
The Sox were unable to continue their winning ways dropping the rubber match to the Rangers. Gavin Floyd started and went 7 strong innings surrendering 3 hits and 2 runs striking out 5. Chris Sale and Tony Pena combined for 1 perfect inning. The Sox got double the Hits of the Rangers but could muster only half the runs. Gordo had his 2nd 2 hit game of the series and the top 4 batters; Pierre, Alexei, Quentin and Pauly each got the other 4 hits.
