Game 1 – Edwin Jackson RHP (2-0, 2.89) @ David Price LHP (1-2, 3.92)
The Sox have had success vs. the Rays Southpaw going 4-0 vs. him including a win earlier this season in which Price lasted 6 innings surrendering 3 runs on 9 hits. Edwin Jackson was the opposing pitcher the last time Price faced the Sox and Jackson was lights out striking out 13 Rays and according to Ray Manager Joe Maddon looked better than when he no-hit them.
Game 2 – John Danks LHP (0-1, 3.15) @ James Shields RHP (0-1, 3.98)
Shields last start vs the Sox was this year, he pitched 6 innings gave up 5 earned and was unable to strike out anybody. In his career vs. the Sox he has gone 2-2 with a 5.33 ERA. John Danks last start was and 8 inning 1 run gem in which he struck out 7. In his career vs. the Rays he has gone 5-2 with a 4.10 ERA and 47 strike outs over 48 innings.
Game 3 – Philip Humber RHP (1-1, 3.46) @ Wade Davis (1-2, 3.26)
Humber’s last time around vs. Tampa Bay was a solid start for the right hander, pitching 6 innings surrendering 1 run on 4 hits and 2 walks. Davis has gone 1-2 over his last 3 including a loss to the Sox, a 6 inning effort.
Game 4 – Gavin Floyd RHP (1-1, 4.29) @ Jeff Niemann RHP (0-2, 6.32)
Gavin Floyd in April is never a good thing but his last start vs. the Rays was solid going 8 innings giving up 4 hits and walking 1 leading to a win. Niemann is 2-3 vs. the Sox including a loss this year in only 2.2 innings.
