The Sox inability to drive runners in continued in this series as the Sox squandered opportunity after opportunity, stranding a total of 25 runners and going 4/27 with RISP. They won the opener 5-4, on a Aaron Crow Balk with Dunn at the plate and dropped the next two, 5-3 and 4-1. Not a good start with a run of 19 straight AL Central games.
The starting pitching as a whole was OK, going 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA. The Bullpen continued to be the strong point of the team with a 1.29 ERA striking out 8 over 7 innings. Hector Santiago made his debut with 1 perfect inning.
The hitting as a whole was garbage, with the Sox unable to score any runs, when it counted. Alexei went 0/7, Dunn batted .182 with 5 K’s. the Sox gave Paulino his 1st win of the season, against 6 losses. Pauly showed his worth as an all-star going 5/13 with his 22nd Homer.
