Over the last couple years the Sox biggest rival was not the Cubs, Twins or Tigers. The biggest rival was the Metrodome. Many Sox losses took place there and so did much fruastration. Well, the Twins don’t play in the Metrodome anymore, they play in the newest of Baseball stadiums, Target Field.
The Sox had one of their biggest innings of the season as AJ and Alexei both cranked out 2 run doubles in the 5th. The Sox had 7 of their 11 hits in the 5th. The other RBI coming from Andruw Jones’ RBI single also in the big 5th.
Gordon Beckham was moved into the 8th spot after a terrible start to the season. He did not fair well in that spot as he was 0-3. What does Ozzie have to move him to 11th in the line up to get some wood on the ball.
Alex Rios was up and running again today as he stole his 10th base of the season.
Juan Pierre was excellent from the top of the order as he was 3-6 today. Paul Konerko and Alex Rios were both 2-4.
The bright spot of the game was the pitching, from the 1st inning through the 9th inning. Freddy Garcia went 7 innings giving up only 2 runs on 9 hits. Jenks and MT37 combined to give up only 2 hits and 2 K’s in 2 innings of work with no runs allowed. Huge confidence boost for Bobby who blew the game on Sunday afternoon.
The Sox left 6 men on base.
They will try to sweep the 2 game series tomorrow afternoon at 12:00pm CT.
