The Chicago Bears have scheduled a interview with Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin for Tuesday, according to Josina Anderson.
Austin is just one of a few coaching candidates the Bears will interview as they look to get more scheduled soon. In his first year as Detroit’s defensive coordinator, Austin has turned the Lions into one of the best defenses in the league this year. Detroit had the best run defense in the league, but fell short in the playoffs losing to the Dallas Cowboys.
Previous to joining the Lions, Austin served as the Secondary coach in Baltimore from 2011-2014. He’s also coached the defensive backs unit in Seattle and Arizona.
Earlier today it was reported the Bears are heavily-interested in Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak.
