The Chicago White Sox have made it known they are taking offers on ace Chris Sale and that it would probably take at least four or five top prospects in order to get the deal done.

However, after a weird incident involving sale prior to Saturday’s game, the White Sox ace could be on the move and the Texas Rangers could be a likely candidate.

The deal would more than likely require Jurickson Profar and Joey Gallo if it’s going to happen. With Prince Fielder looking at neck surgery, Shin-Soo Choo spending time on the disabled list, and first basemen Mitch Moreland a free agent after the season, it’s not clear if the Rangers are willing to deal away Gallo and Profar.

Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels has hinted that a reliable arm is his team’s focus before the August 1 trade deadline. Because of the strength of the Ranger’s farm system, they may just be a perfect trade partner for the Chicago White Sox who are more than likely preparing to rebuild.

The Rangers will be without the right arm of Colby Lewis and lefty Derek Holland, both who are not eligible to return until late August after landing on the disabled list. With the Rangers currently in first place within the AL West, they may be a little more willing to make a move that would contribute to this season’s outcome.

After losing eight of their last ten games, the Chicago White Sox may finally be ready to throw in the towel for 2016 and start focussing on the future. Dealing away Chris Sale could be the first step for the South Siders towards eventually reaching the postseason.
