Martin Pérez
The Chicago White Sox signed 33-year-old Martin Pérez peniding a physical to a one-year deal according to FanSided Robert Murray. Martin Pérez in his thirteen year career in Major League Baseball has played for five teams with his longest tenure being with the Texas Rangers who he spent nine seasons with.
The six-foot left-hander spent his 2024 season splitting his time between the Pittsburgh Pirates and then was traded over at last years trade deadline to the San Diego Padres. Durning his tenure with both the Padres and Pirates Pérez went 5-6 making 26 starts, with a 4.53 ERA, with 107 strikeouts, in 135 innings of work.
What will Martin Pérez bring to the Chicago White Sox?
The 13-year veteran will bring not only experience to such a very young White Sox rotations, but also bring a fire in his belly to bounce back and be better than he was last season. If Martin Pérez can get back to being the solid and reliable three/four option he has been in his career and has a solid first half the White Sox won’t have a problem finding a suitor to trade him too.
