Tim Duncan is the greatest power forward to ever play the game of basketball and undoubtedly one of the ten greatest players to ever play the game. The soft spoken big man is somewhat of an enigma to fans: he is never involved with anything very public off the court, he has very few endorsements besides adidas and Duncan keeps to himself.
Which is why not many people know that Tim Duncan is a HUGE Chicago Bears fan. Yup, you read that right. The Big Fundamental is a fan of the Monsters of the Midway.
How big of a fan?
Well, Timmy once held up the Spurs from leaving from San Antonio in 2007 because the Bears were playing the Seahawks in the NFC Divisional Playoffs round and the game went into overtime:
Tim Duncan, a die-hard #Bears fan, delayed a #Spurs team flight in 2007 because the Bears/Seahawks playoff game had gone into OT.

The Bears would eventually win the game thanks to the leg of Robbie Gould and went on to the NFC Championship game. Duncan also kept Bears memorabilia in his locker in San Antonio.
We weren't allowed to take pics in the locker room. But Tim Duncan always kept a Bears mini helmet and a Bears box in his locker.

Duncan was also a pretty big fan of the John Fox hire prior to last season, and even referred to the Bears as “we” during this interview.
One of the greats and biggest Bears fans will no longer be suiting up in the NBA.
Salute to you, Mr. Duncan.
