The Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers get an unexpected off day. Today’s game was postponed due to rain. The Cubs and Brewers will make-up the game on July 30th as a day-night doubleheader. Today’s game will be the day game on July 30th – 1:20 p.m. central and the originally stated game will be at 7:05 p.m. central.
Dale Sveum said he will not adjust his starting rotation and Scott Feldman will start the series opener vs. the San Francisco Giants. Carlos Villanueva will go Friday, Jeff Samardzija on Saturday and Edwin Jackson on Sunday.
Note: Darwin Barney will play in minor-league rehab games on Saturday and Monday if the weather is all good. If everything goes good, Barney will likely return next week. Barney is overcoming a gash in his knee and the stitches have already been removed.
The Cubs will get rest today and be back to action tomorrow at 1:20 p.m. central vs. the Giants. Feldman will be on the mound for the Cubs and Ryan Vogelsong will take the bump for the Giants. You can see the game on Comcast Sportsnet and heard on WGN 720.
