On Tuesday, Chicago Cubs president Jed Hoyer suggested the team would soon make a move with their bullpen amid injuries and pitching woes.
“I think we’ll continue to shuffle the bullpen — it’s the right thing to do,” Hoyer said. “We have a number of guys throwing well, so hopefully we’ll hit on some of them.”
The Cubs’ bullpen ranks 22nd in having an ERA of 4.34.
On Sunday, Chicago promoted a pitcher to the bullpen ahead of the final outing of a three-game home series against the Philadelphia Phillies at 6 p.m. CST. The Cubs won the first game of the series on Friday but lost 10-4 on Saturday.
