The Tommy La Stella drama looks like it’s coming to an end.
After the Cubs optioned the infielder down to Triple-A Iowa a few weeks back, he never reported and instead stayed at his home. The 27-year-old was upset that he was optioned as the Cubs brought back struggling outfielder Chris Coghlan.
Now that drama is over.
According to manager Joe Maddon, La Stella is expected to report to Double-A Tennessee as he made the announcement on his weekly radio show on WSCR-AM 670:
#Cubs infielder Tommy La Stella is "about ready to report" to Double-A, manager Joe Maddon says.

La Stella will be down in Tennessee trying to get back into the swing of things. He’s hitting .295 in 51 games for the Cubs this season, providing a valuable left-handed bat off the bench.
