Round 1 (CHI pick): WR Rome Odunze / Washington / 6’3-201 LBS
With wide outs Chase Claypool and Darnell Mooney set to hit the free agent market in 2024, the Chicago Bears could very likely be targeting a wide receiver early in next year’s draft. One of my favorites in this class, other than the obvious duo from Ohio State, is Rome Odunze from Washington.
I think he’s poised for a huge season with Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. He’s listed at the very least a top five wide out in the class, but he could soar up boards with another good year.

During his junior season last year, Odunze racked up 70 catches on 1,088 yards, with 7 touchdowns. When he was targeted, Penix’s QB rating was an astonishing 124.9, making it seem like Odunze was a straight vacuum as a pass catcher. His legit route running, and big-play ability makes him a sure fire first rounder with massive potential. He’s so good at using his size to overwhelm smaller defensive backs.
He’s not the fastest receiver out there, he won’t be able to take the top off the defense in the NFL as easy as he’s done in the PAC-12, so he’ll have to adjust and work on other parts of his game. Odunze has a high motor and I believe that’ll translate to the next level.
