Round 3: TE Michael Trigg / Ole Miss / 6’3-240
The tight end dilemma that the Chicago Bears could be faced with next year is real. Robert Tonyan and Cole Kmet could both enter free agency in 2024, leaving the Bears will just about no one left. That’s why I addressed that need here, with Michael Trigg, who started school at USC but transferred to Ole Miss last season.
He had 17 catches for 156 yards, and three touchdowns during his sophomore campaign, and is expected to have a bigger role for the Rebels this coming season. You may be familiar with the name because of his nasty, one-handed catch that he had in the 2021 season as freshman with USC.

He’s got some of the best hands in college football, as many have praised him for, and is just a strong presence at the tight end position. He could become an elite blocker as well with the right coaching at the next level. Trigg also has a quick burst off the line that makes him an intimidating pass catcher.
Tight ends aren’t the most glamorous to select in an early round, but with the potential for multiple players at the position leaving in the off-season, it makes sense. Trigg could be a steal at this point if he has a solid year at Ole Miss.
