Round 4: DE David Walker / Central Arkansas / 6’3-265 LBS
David Walker out of the University of Central Arkansas is the selection in the fourth, and it may be a reach. Now here’s a guy who could fly under the radar all year, as he plays in the FCS against weaker competition. That hasn’t stopped teams from taking guys like Walker early.
He’s a strong, high-motor pass rusher that could help this Chicago Bears defense if they continue to struggle sacking the QB in the 2023-24 season. Walker racked up 12 sacks last year and was named an FCS All-American and is a force off the line-of-scrimmage. I think with another huge year at UCA, Walker could end up in this fourth to fifth round territory of the draft.

He’s raw in terms of his ability to show multiple pass rush counters, and as a run defender, but I believe he’ll become a true force for Central Arkansas this year. Walker is a bit smaller for your typical pass rusher, he’ll need to bulk up. If he does, he could become a problem.
Look, all I’m saying is, remember the name. Walker WILL be a steal for whoever picks him up next year, that is if he continues to improve during the upcoming season.
That concludes this way-too-early four round mock draft for the Chicago Bears. I’ll continue to make more as the College Football season progresses and names start to jump up and down draft boards.
