2. Bears tight end Gerald Everett

In 2024, the Bears signed the veteran tight end to a two-year deal worth $12 million. The Bears would stand to gain $5 million by cutting Everett and would take a $1 million dead cap hit.
Chicago brought Everett to reunite with Shane Waldron. Everett and Waldron were terrible last season. Everett recorded eight receptions for 36 yards, easily the lowest stats of his eight-year NFL career. The 30-year-old wasn’t helpful as a run blocker.
It’s hard to think Poles will keep Everett around for 2025.
